Tomatillo Salsa

with roasted Serrano and cilantro

The tang of sweet roasted tomatillos, aromatic cilantro, slow-cooked garlic and lively serrano chiles makes a salsa beloved throughout Central Mexico. From the majestic Aztec Empire (when tomatillos were on noble tables) until today, tomatillo salsas have been Mexico's foundation of "zing" for everything from totops (aka tortilla chips) and tostadas to tacos. You can taste our dedication to small-batch salsa made from fresh ingredients.

My third favorite salsa behind the 1) roasted corn and 2) habanero salsas. Nice fresh flavor. Tangy and excellent with tortilla chips.

Goes without saying that nothing beats homemade salsa, but this brand (and particularly this one, the tomatillo) is the best of the storebought kinds I've had. All the Frontera salsas are pretty good and worth a try, though.

I use this to cheat when I'm being lazy and don't want to make Tomatillo salsa from scratch.... I have to say after I doctor it up a lil I think it tastes better than my homemade version!

I typically use this when I make Chile Verde, add some fresh roasted tomatillos and some green peppers (ok I admit I've even added the canned jalapenos) but regardless of the type of pepper I add it's delicious!

Even my Mexican born and raised father says its delicious! (of course I didnt tell him I made it from a jar... why break his little heart?!?!

Great Product overall!
